HOW TO MAKE MUSTARDS SEED NECKLACE

The mustard seed has great significance for Christians and, as a result, is a popular item in Bible school crafts for children.

Mustard seeds are very small, but very important for Christians. This is partly due to the passage in the Bible where Jesus says that faith as small as a mustard seed can move a mountain. Due to its religious meaning, mustard seeds are a popular item in Christian craft projects for children. A mustard seed necklace is a fun and easy thing to make at a church camp or Bible school, or just because you like it.

What You Need

  • Trembling eyes
  • White Construction Paper
  • Pen or Pencil
  • Scissor
  • Small Glass Bottle with Cork (optional)
  • Biji-biji mustar
  • Lem
  • Tape or cable

How to Make a Mustard Seed Necklace

Peel off the back that comes off from your local craft store. Discard the adhesive backing and black “pupil”, keeping only the clear plastic part.

Place clear plastic on top of a piece of stiff white paper, such as construction paper, and trace the lines with a pen or pencil. Use the scissors to cut out the shape you have drawn.

Place the mustard seed in the center of the piece of paper you cut out and carefully apply the glue around the edges of the paper.

Place a piece of clear plastic on paper over the rapeseed seeds, straighten the ends. Let the glue dry, and you have a pendant for your necklace. Alternatively, you can buy a small glass vial or bottle with a stopper and place mustard seeds in it.

Cut a piece of string or ribbon long enough to wrap around your head, and tape each end to the back of the mustard seed pendant. If you choose to use bottles instead, many have stoppers with eyelets in them. Simply thread the string or ribbon through the knot and tie the ends into a knot.

Hint:

Mustard seeds can be found in the spice aisle at the grocery store seedingfaith.com, but be sure to get the whole one.

For a different twist on the necklace, you can use glue to draw a “t” shape on a piece of construction paper. Sprinkle the seeds onto the glue and let them dry to form mustard seeds.

Young children need adult supervision when using scissors.
